The second of the ACBL’s annual “grass roots” events, the Grand National Teams (GNT), begin at the club level and continue through district qualifying events held as late as July prior to the finals held at the ACBL Summer National. The GNT is competed in four (4) flights: Championship (Open), A (0-5000), B (0-2500), and C (0-500, Non-Life Masters).
- Qualification in participating clubs is optional. If games are held, it would be from September to March.
- District Final:
District finals for District 1 are held on a rotating basis each year between cities in the Eastern and Western portions of the District. For 2018, team/players have the following options:
Flights A & C: will be held in Montreal. Date and location to be announced.
Flights B & Championship: will be held in Halifax. Date and location to be announced.
- ACBL Final: during Summer NABC in Atlanta July 26 – August 2018
District/ Unit Subsidies:
Subsidies for pairs travelling to the ACBL final are available from a combination of District 1 and Unit 192. The highest-ranked team for each flight from Unit 192 will receive a minimum of $500 each towards travel expenses. Other pairs who qualify for the ACBL final but are not the highest-ranked pair from the unit may be eligible for the District subsidy which last year was $200.
