2010 Canadian Bridge Championship Winners

The CBF held its annual Canadian Bridge Championships from May 29th through June 5th, 2010 to determine the Canadian National (Flight A and B), Women’s and Senior Team Champions as well as the Canadian Open and IMP Pairs Champions. Members of Unit 192 completed in each of the six events, but none more so than Pamela Nisbet and Isabelle Smith. Pamela and Isabelle are members of the winning CWTC team and earn the right to be “Team CANADA” at the upcoming World Bridge Federation tournament in Philadelphia. Pam is now a five time (consecutive) gold medalist this event, while Isabelle had her name engraved on the Tobi Mitchell Trophy for the second time.

While the CNTC-A was won by an Alberta based team (GARTAGANIS), they have augmented their team with David T. Willis and Paul Thurston for Philadelphia. Paul is not a member of Unit 192, but we have adopted him as “one of our own”. As many of you are aware, Paul works tirelessly in support of duplicate bridge in Unit 192.

Congratulations and Godspeed in Philadelphia.
